Amazon KDP Publishing Services

Amazon KDP is free to use and easy to get wrong: categories, keywords, pricing tiers, and print setup all affect sales for the life of the book. We do the setup professionally, on your account, from $449.

Roughly everything that determines whether Amazon shows your book to anyone is decided at upload: the two categories you may choose (and the several more you can request), the seven keyword slots, the 70% versus 35% royalty pricing bands, trim and paper choices that set your print cost floor, and a description field that quietly supports formatting almost nobody uses well. KDP's own help pages tell you what the fields are. Our job is knowing what to put in them.

Because everything happens inside your account with you watching, the service doubles as a masterclass in your own dashboard. Authors leave able to change their price, run a promotion, and read their sales reports without calling anyone. That independence is deliberate; dependence is what the predatory end of this industry sells.

Frequently asked questions

Isn't publishing on Amazon KDP free?

Yes, and we say so plainly: KDP charges nothing to publish. You are paying for professional setup, formatting, category and keyword strategy, and listing quality, the same reason people pay accountants despite tax forms being free.

Whose KDP account is the book published under?

Yours, without exception. Royalties go from Amazon to your bank account directly. If a publishing service wants to publish under their account, that is the biggest red flag in this industry, and it is the practice we built this service against.

How long until my book is live on Amazon?

With print-ready files, typically 72 hours including KDP review. From raw manuscript, about 7 days including formatting. Amazon's own review adds 24 to 72 hours at the end.

Do I need my own ISBN?

For Amazon-only ebooks, no: Amazon assigns an ASIN. For paperbacks, KDP offers a free ISBN, but owning your own (about $125 from Bowker, or included in our Author Brand tier) lists you as publisher of record and travels with you to other retailers. We explain the tradeoff and set up whichever you choose.
